I would rather have an elected official who takes his own money and spends it on hookers than an elected official who takes money from pimps. I'm not sure how to ethically argue the point however.

I Say - HOLY CRAP !!!!!!!!

I can't write what I'm actually feeling about what these LEECH****S have done ... cause the SS would track me down - even though it would just be monumental rant. OMG - Completely Beyond Reason.

I just want to highlight this one point - among a dozen or so SUPERB ones;

"Is not the truth that they are in fact underwater on their homes and are trying to save their own asses, while not disclosing any of this to you, the public, or recusing themselves from debate and votes on these measures?"

(2)(A)A Member, officer, or employee may accept a gift (other than cash or cash equivalent) which the Member, officer, or employee reasonably and in good faith believes to have a value of less than $50, and a cumulative value from one source during a calendar year of less than $100. it would absolutely thrill me to see more than half of congress removed from office, and all the lobbiest sent to prison. then when a constituent showed up at their congressional reps office they might be listened to and not ignored.

graft and corruption are the norm and not the exception. these people rule our lives, and they act as if they are above all laws and their actions have absolutely no consequence.

I read that Dodd's mortgage(s) was an ARM. You'd think he would have had the good sense to secure a 30-year fixed mortgage but like J6P no matter how low the payment on a 30-year that was served up at that time the payment wasn't low enough - it had to be lower ARM. Insane.

I bet that nobody in Congress paid market rates or closing costs on thier loans from any company. Not defending CFC- FOA was pretty well known around the firm from what I hear. FOA=friend of Angelo

The neopotism at CFC is unlike anything that I have ever seen from a major company however.....

Dodd reportedly received two loans through the program in 2003 - $506,000 to refinance his Washington town house, and $275,042 to refinance a home in Connecticut. The more favorable terms saved him about $70,000, the report says.

The company has also contributed $21,000 to Dodd's campaigns since 1997, but the senator proposed a bill last year that was averse to the company's lending practices, the report noted.

Anyone remember his testimony months ago where Reps and Senators were literally apologizing for having him there and saying before they started asking questions that they were "not going to grill him"?

Nice catch Karl!

I remember watching that and immediately puking in my mouth a little.

So.....

The question is - what did Dodd and the rest of them offer BAC to take on Countrywide and keep the spotlight off their loans?
