I have no doubt that ratings are through the floor and DK (is douche bag one word or 2?) knows that controversy sells. So he gets on the air and bad mouths all the bloggers, whom HE KNOWS will take the bait. This gives him exposure to all their readers who otherwise wouldn't even know who the **** he is. I haven't watched CNBC for months, but even when I did, I didn't know the guy's name. Once I had to comment on something he said on air and I referred to him as "the whiny guy with the glasses." Don't beat your head against the wall. He's an idiot - and a desperate one at that. ---------- Is it still Russian roulette when all of the cylinders are loaded? He ain't gonna bite. If he does, he'll be crying by the time I get done with him - and if he cuts my mic then he's just killed his own argument. Unlike the other guys I'm not a pussy and have no problem with my name out there - if he can find a remote I'll even do the interview on CAMERA - if his show has the budget to afford the uplink time. ---------- I used to play flute; I wonder if I can play a fife? Has there ever been a credit-driven downturn that wasn't a depression with a "d"? From my reading on the subject, there's two kinds of economic contractions: inventory-driven recessions and credit-driven depressions. Actually, the application of the term "recession" for the downward leg of a business cycle is the newer of the two:Quote:Before World War II, it was common to refer to any business cycle downturn as a "depression." This confused the short-term cycles, normally inventory cycles that recur about every four to five years – what we now call "recessions" – with the deeper depressions, which are infrequent events, recurring every fifty to sixty years. Depressions seem to be driven more by weaknesses in balance sheets than by errors in ordering and stocking of goods.Notwithstanding all the paranoia and suspicions of tinfoil that the "d" word has attached to it, I would argue that the distinction between recessions and depressions is worth keeping. ---------- Come on. You just killed him lololol. Pretty sure arithmetic is not in his skill set either, what a freakin moron. It has come to the point though, that I can no longer tell who is the absolute worst on CNBS, but I have to say Cramer is still my # pick because he is clearly the most blatent front-running shill for the Pigmen, but then we always have Krudlow and his green shoots which I'm sure are just fine for smoking once dried out a bit but not much else, and then we have Kneale who is just plain dumb as a rock. Nice that we have such excellent choices to lol over in the midst of the the Greatest D ever. Good job man, I'd lay 10:1 you never ever get the Kneale CNBS call though - you are just too real and honest for his moronic lame ass... 2009-06-30 22:27:44

KD: While I agree 100% with the ticker, you blew it... You laid it out TOO well. The man now has no reason to put you on his show, as he has likely fogured out by now that you are going to have the upper hand, hence, why should he set himself up to fail? Instead, he has "talking points" to cover his ass when he has to retract, and I guarantee he won't attribute the material to you. You're playing poker, and you just exposed your 4 aces, should have forced him to bet and put in a call live... Just my humble opinion, mind you... ---------- "That was a little trick I call math. Not a chance in hell the ****er takes the bait. He's probably dumb enough to do it. But his producer will just tell him no way. Unless they really are just wanting him to fail.

Heh, I thought you were far too easy on him. Phantomace: If you think that was aces, you obvious haven't seen much video of DK. Karl just babied him along with that ticker. Rhab might be on to something here. Kneale was being such a jerk tonight that it smacks of intentional baiting. Like he's trying to start a fight just to get attention. That Gong Show line to cut off the blogger was obviously pre-planned. It didn't matter what the guy said it had clearly been planned that Kneale was going to use that line to cut him off at the end of the segment. It wasn't just the comments he was making about bloggers, he was treating his guests that way too. I thought he was an ass to that Julie R. that was on tonight. He wasn't outright rude to the former Bear Sterns economist he had on in a different segment, but he did make several mild jabs at the guy and made it very clear that he was doing so for no other reason than because the guy disagreed with him. Kneale the last two night was truely excruciating. Even Kudlow I can tolerate. Kudlow has persons who disagree with him on all the time and while he sometiems can cut them off to insert some permabull opinion of his own, he generally does give them a chance to talk. He jokes around with them about the differences of opinion, but is rarely outright rude to them. Kudlow even seems to be listening and understanding what his bearish guests says as he frquently resonds to things they've said with questions for more details or with disgareements on specific points - which shows he is listening and has heard. Barry Reitholz has been on Kudlow several times and has written on The Big Picture that he enjoys going on Kudlow's show. I've seen Kudlow's permabull guests be rude to bearish folks during debating segments, but Kudlow really isn't that bad in that respect from what I've seen. Kneale though. Geez, cutting people off constantly, giving no indication that he is listening to single word they have said. Blatently insulting them. It too much to hope the Kneale get canned, but I really hope the CNBC powers draw a line here and rein him in. ---------- 4 out 5 Mayor Quimbys surveyed agreed - **** YOU YANKEES! 2009-06-30 22:40:13

Quote:Consumers are not saving, they are paying down debt in a furious attempt to avoid defaulting on nearly $1 trillion in outstanding credit card balances that have gone from 11% interest to 29.6%, on OptionARMs that are seeing a tripling of payments while the home's value is underwater and precludes refinance, all while they are being laid off by the hundreds of thousands monthly. Thank you for putting that in writing. The so called "savings rate spike" is nothing but the beginning of household deleveraging. Asimov: I have watched as many vid's as I have been able to find. The first one that "hooked" me was actually a long time after I had already become a "lurker" on here. That was the media award vid. He may only have a pair of 5's, but he exposed his hand, and DK is sitting with a 4 high at best. No way DK calls his bluff on air at this point. I absolutely SO appreciate what Karl is doing (otherwise I wouldn't be here), but... he gave up too much info. With what he has to say he could "run" with it if he was on air, but no TV celebrity is going to intentionally let that happen with someone that disagrees with them. Bad for business, image, pay, and all that ya' know... ---------- "That was a little trick I call math.
