Karl this is a very persuasive and effective video. PBS would be doing a public service to air your rebuttal to the non-answer given by Bernanke.

Nice fillet job Karl! IF ONLY we could see you and Ben in the same room, I am pretty sure he would cry before it was over. Ocular penetration tends to cause that reaction.

Hi Karl, first time post. I love your site. Any ideas as to why the treasury auction did so much better today than yesterday.

Another set of facts for the record books. Hopefully for the day in the future where fact, logic, reason, and math are once again respected. Thanks Karl. ---------- "...But whenever we see things done wildly, but taken tamely, then the State is growing insane..." - Gilbert Keith Chesterton 1910

Thanks Karl, great ticker.. sending it off to a few friends. But might I suggest running a second-by-second ticker on the background screens (just like the ones on cnbc.) Or a slideshow of nuclear explosions :)

Soros, unfortunately the monitors that I have are 60hz devices. They "beat" badly with my Hidef camera and there is no means available to alter their frequency (nor that of the shutter profile of the camera, since it is NTSC only - 29.97fps, which is why the problem manifests.) If they were 72hz it would not be a problem as there would be no almost-even divisor to cause trouble, but they're not and as such it is. ---------- "The monetary base in ALL modern monetary systems is the sum of unencumbered assets against which one is both WILLING AND ABLE to borrow." - Me

Ah, hell, I figured that was your plan. Oh well, it's still a good backdrop.

Yeah, it appears that ALL of the major manufacturer LCD panels are locked at 60hz refresh rates. This is a major bitch because the 29.97fps frame rate for NTSC will, for any monitor that has a "fast" refresh rate (which is desirable for viewing) cause fairly serious "beat" patterns to appear in the video. No way around it, and it sucks. In the old CRT days most higher-quality displays could lock at 72hz, which solved the problem when shooting them. That appears to have "gone away" with the LCD panel ascension. ---------- "The monetary base in ALL modern monetary systems is the sum of unencumbered assets against which one is both WILLING AND ABLE to borrow." - Me

Gen: The Dell 19" LCD monitor I am "currently" using can go 60, 70, 72 and 75 with no problems. (Just tried them all before posting this.) Also, even though I no longer have it connected to my PC as a monitor, the LG 26" LCD-TV that I have in my office can go multiple refresh rates as well. I ran it at 72 all the time. I remember because that is where I had the best appearance connected to the combination video/capture card I used to have in my desktop PC. Are you sure it isn't an issue with the video card's capabilities, and not the monitors? ---------- "That was a little trick I call math. I don't think so - I'm running fairly high-end NVidia cards. I'll do some more digging.... if its the cards I will be royally ****ed, but at least I can fix that without TOO much expense. ---------- "The monetary base in ALL modern monetary systems is the sum of unencumbered assets against which one is both WILLING AND ABLE to borrow." - Me

Quote:The solution to this problem is to force all of the bad debt out in the open and default it. That means that many of his friends bankers will go bankrupt.Yes Sir. Instead, the corrupt Federal Reserve supports these very same bankers with mountains of taxpayers' money to keep "paying" record bonuses and further extend the charade. Gen: I used to run Diamond "Monster" cards is SLI way back. Those were the days... LOL Anyway, I think the card in the desktop that was capture also was an nVidia "G-Force"(?). Had a big purple snake that you could plug just about anything into (USB, firewire, vga, etc...) and pull in video from those ports into an editing program. It never gave me resolution fits. Maybe there's a firmware or driver update for your nVidia card? ---------- "That was a little trick I call math. Nice video, the setup is excellent. Bernanke just avoided the entire question like it was never asked and then tried to persuade the audience that more credit was the answer! We have enough credit already Ben, I thought the bond markets would implode months ago but you proved me wrong time and time again, Fed credit is magik! The marvelous wonderful money machine. But what about the damn debt! How the hell are we going to pay it off? If it isn't necessary for debt to be paid off then why the hell have it in the first place just get rid of it, print to the moon and make us all rich already! ---------- "In short, you are the definition of moral hazard." Great job Karl. 1) Like you say...the math always wins. 2) He will not dare argue the math with you, he already knows the outcome. 3) Do you think he really wants to be re-nominated? He just seems to be so unsure of what is going to come out of his mouth lately.
