As usual, a concise focused energy bar of insight. By the way, I was gone a while, did CFC go negative even briefly in the AH. I saw it setting at up 0.01

just curious.

It's down a few nickels in AH. If investors are actually digesting all of the BS then tomorrow could be a very exciting day for Da Bears.

I think its great that Mozillo had a little honesty in his comments. The state of affairs we are in sure ****ing needs it. Perhaps the dam finally opened up a little today and ACCEPTANCE may be setting in. Feels like it to me with "recession" being splattered all over the place. Even cramer seemed to speak candidly today on stop trading. Now maybe J6P will get his head out of his ass.

Genesis, you deserve a pat on the back for that excellent analysis on the death spiral financing. If BOA extended $10 bil of that $11.5 bil line of credit, they could have forced Countrywide into that $2 bl convertible stock deal, which gives BOA the tools to take over Countrywide.

Another interesting news today explains why Countrywide rejects so many loan modifications. They are not the only lender to do so, and I have been scratching my head about that. Now it is crystal clear.

NPR interviewed Dick Bove today - what a great guy! He explained the worst is yet to come. We have plenty of liquidity, but the fear of who is holding what (Bill Gross' "do you have a Waldo?") is preventing the extension of credit, and it can take months to sort this out.

Bove said the underlying problem still remains, and that is that the US lacks the income to repay all the debt that has been accumulated.
