Ok guys, I am getting sick of the 100% pessimism on some of these posts. 'This won't matter, that won't matter' bla bla bla There is no MAGIC WAND to fix all this ****. We can only take steps. This is a step in the right direction.

I called and told her office that it was a start, but unless the amendment specified mark-to-market, then there was no way to calculate the real leverage. I called her office and the offices of the other Democrats that co-sponsored HR 1207, to thank them for their support and to ask them to reject Mel Watts ammendment. It was interesting that some of the aides asked where I was calling from and others didn't. I wondered if comments from citizens outside their voting district are ignored, but of course realized they probably ignore their local consituents most of the time as well. Though I do think we are getting through to many of the House members, save a certain dishonorable Rep from Charlotte.
