Will we start seeing books and articles on the topic of 'Crony Socialism'?

I was thinking the same thing yesterday!!!!

Xanares, that is too good! LOL

We have one political party that spans from the left to the right that ascribes to the law of bureaucratic behavior. They posture in order to get the sheeple to look here and argue amongst themselves about crap, all the while they are over there fleecing the citizenry.

None of the corporate elites and Beltway politicians is feeling any pain, at all. Bet on it. Think they are eating mac and cheese? LOL

Why isn't Obama made to answer about this? Why wont a journalist ask how this will stimulate the economy:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009....

Quote:
A top House Republican is demanding an investigation into whether the more than $2 billion for national parks in the House stimulus package is proper in light of the fact that the chief lobbyist for the National Parks Conservation Association is the son of House Appropriations Committee Chairman David R. Obey.

NPCA is a major player in advocating for national parks funding, and its senior vice president for government affairs is Craig Obey, son of the Wisconsin Democrat who has long been his party's top Appropriations Committee member.

The money included in the stimulus bill that passed Mr. Obey's committee - $2.25 billion - was about equal to the National Park Service's total yearly budget, and would be a staggering increase and almost three times the $802 million that the Senate Appropriations Committee approved for park spending in its stimulus bill.

Too late, we already have a tax revolt. Its the new Bubble, an exploding underground economy.

I've hinted at it before but its very important to note.

We HAVE A NEW BUBBLE and its the UNDERGROUND ECONOMY. Guaranteed

Even the pigmen participate in it.

Damn straight, Karl. This chicanery is so disgusting that I'm at the point of saying "Bring on the collapse, and let the blood flow." And I'm probably one of the most easygoing people around here.

Kucinich gets it but BO is not listening to him or the people who know what is wrong, but rather the powerful 'big money' behind the leaders.

(I know sounds a little tin-foil-ish, but as we've seen yesterdays tinfoil is todays reality in many cases)

Looks like Cheney is still in power too. All he did was move across the river and issues a 'terror warning' 2 weeks into a new Presidents term. hard to fathom.

I keep thinking what Hillary said when she was campaigning. She said that the Presidency shouldn't be on the job training. That's what it looks like to me unexperience.

How can Barry say without immediate passage of his stimulus plan we will be screwed right away with a straight face? Only ~20% of the funds are too be used in 2009!

http://readthestimulus.org/cbo_charts.ph....

This is most definitely not change we can believe in. I'm glad I didn't vote for either major party.

Lera,

"We have elected a Naive Oratorial Idiot Savant with no knowledge of the real world.

Buckle up, folks. "

What is that "we" ****? I did not vote for this corrupt jawboning/lying socialist. By the way, I respectfully disagree with you on the point that he is an idiot. He is a snake coming up through the ranks of the most corrupt state political machine. He is bought and paid for hook, line, and sinker.

For the record, had not voted for McCain either. They are all on the TAKE.
99.9999% of all DC politicians regardless of their party affiliation are ****ing traitors and criminals as far I am concerned. They are an integral part of the problem.

I came here from USSR in 1991. I've SEEN all this before. Nowhere to run now.

People will wake up ONLY when they have a hard time feeding their kids. Not until then. Overwhelming majority of population still got a head up their collective asses.

What is the solution? 1774.

The alternative is VERY VERY unpleasant.

As nation, we have come a full circle.

"Meet the New Boss, same as the Old Boss"

So the Prez is a (probably) rudderless reactionary government-first cretin who doesn't have a serious appreciation for dealing with the scope of the problem

Congres is a bunch of partisan special interest driven *****s who feel no responsibility to the Tax Payer

The Banks are run by inept crooks who only know how to ask for more

The Fed and the Treasury are crony thugs with little imigination as to constructive policy

Our Industrial base is gone, and the FIRE eceonomy is a 4 alarm fire spreading to the surrounding buildings

The States are coughing up fiscal blood and all the civil service unions are starting to get antsy

Small business owner, their employees and the self employed are all going to be soon catching on all their favorite day time soaps soon.

Tax Revenues are down, expenditures are up, and no one is left standing to man up for all the planned T-bill auctions to fund Obama's shiny happy bailout.

Did I miss anything?

so....

Are we officially turning the page from market analysis blog skimming lightly to political analysis blog and going straight to a pending survivalist blog? THe stock market seems to be losing a little of its long term relevency.

OT: My pistol purchase permit is waiting for me down at the local police station. Time to go get that Taurus PT-99 and a few boxes of 9mm ammo. Any good book recommendations for canning and gardening?

I see on CNBC that the mark to market rules are going to be relaxed. Isn't that among other things what got us into this mess in the first place? I'm just a newbie and trying to absorb as much of this as I can.

Lugnut, for info on canning and gardening, look up extension offices for state universities. Here in MN, we have extension.umn.edu They have a wealth of information on the subjects you asked. If I may be of further assistance, contact me.
