There's an article in Bloomie this a.m. about a huge oil surplus and something called contango....Quote:Forward contracts for oil have been higher than prices for immediate delivery this year, a situation known as contango, creating incentives to buy crude now and store it. That may end as growing stockpiles make storage more expensive. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=2.... Right now they are riding the coattails of speculative commodity trading (I thought that bubble already burst??) but what if oil drops to $20 a barrel? If that happens and we have a second round of defaults and write-downs the 4th quarter of 09 and 1st quarter of 10 would be when the **** hits the fan ... or would it happen sooner. BTW, if they are going to use our money to make a profit then some of that profit should be deposited in the US treasury!! ---------- I have money, therefore I exist. Last modified:

'Big' is thriving, small or medium are dieing. Where this leads, JPM buys CIT, enters C's secret negotions with .gov and trades better than ever.

Next comes the "analyst upgrade" with the lofty price target to pump the market higher?

Have not read the ticker, but I am glad having a clear head here available to come and post a ticker so quickly after their report. I am puzzled why their eps was dropped by 9 fold in the last 90 days, while the environment created befor last qtr earning was freindly to financial. This is a freaking game, that is not funny any more, bloomberg is wetting themself, but they had one guy on, that ripped all these financial 2009-07-16 07:42:53

EPS estimates are rigged game for the news cycle Nirvan. See such idiocy this morning as Marriott earnings dropping 75% but beating estimates. Sheer lunacy. Meanwhile JPM stock dropping below yesterday's close pre-market.

I'm glad you talked about the oil because I think we need to educate people on this. Supply and demand have nothing to do with oil pricing anymore it's speculation. Wherever the banks what the oil price to be is where it's going to be plain and simple as that. As you pointed out they are using OUR money to drive up the prices and money created out of thin air by the FED. SO this winter if the prices go to the moon then instead of crying about the oil companies go protest in front of Goldman Nut Sachs or JP *****gan.

Dji- You tell him he had BETTER do something or he's toast. Is he going to sit by and let the Legislative branch be completely usurped by an amalgam of the banking sector and executive branch? At least TRY and put up a fight.

Yeah investment banking, with taxpayer money but hardly gambling,Ever see the movie "The Sting" well the Banking Cartel stung the markets. Gee wonder why the FED insisted they take the money.Clearly to shore up capital with additional funds and to keep down their V.A.R. Smiling walking down the steps meant the "sting" was on. Just touch your finger to the side of your nose Paul Newman (Hank Paulson of Goldman) what a hustle! I knew it, wrote about it but did I trade it NOO. TOOO ****ing obvious.. Well maybe I traded it somewhat ;) I guess we should be thankful? and as taxpayers are accomplices who will be making an interest profit on repayment of our money and from tax revenues of Corp. profits which will be used to create or save more jobs. Huh I guess cheaters due prosper! Last modified:
