Karl, have you got a sec to explain what "down payment assistance" is? ta

Its a scam method to avoid the 3% FHA down payment. Basically, the seller finances it - which is against the rules. So they funnel it through a non-profit and that suddenly makes it "ok". ---------- I used to play flute; I wonder if I can play a fife? Karl, I don't express enough my gratitude, thanks ! Question however, Is there a web site (or group) that collects or organizes like minded folks? re; I visit sites of groups concerned w/the .GOV handling of our economy (and specifically Banking/Home mortg's), and usually leave this (your) web address - and a request to join in your/our fight for some integrity in .GOV, my Quest is ; Is there a way to bring together in one place via the web, people sharing a specific concern? Realtors do something like it when they start w/ a state or zip , progress to cost or # of bedrooms, etc and ultimately filter eyeballs to a page (property) Could a site be created that has a number of starting points (SAY, BSC, Dodd, Foreclosure, you get it) and brings you to zip, then dates, till you get eyeballs to a petition- or a protest schedule - or ??? Looking for a way to push (or pull) from all these myriad scattered sites to this one (I dream of). Is there a way? Digg is all I can think of, but how to do that for this bailout .gov bankruptcy, I cannot figure? Would google and/or every site I visit need to be approached to gain their support to move eyeballs to this (envisioned) 'help save America' site? There seems to be millions of people w/ a grief, all either talking past each other or starting a site that is rarely visited. Can it be this hard to gather folks for the biggest fight (Since 1776)? ---------- More prepared than ready. 2008-06-19 09:22:02

Until people get ****ed enough to act, which may never happen given our mentality in this nation, all you can do is talk with your friends and neighbors and hope to achieve critical mass.

Gen, Fine ticker. I generally like these better than the ones where you spend the majority of the ticker calling people to action. Too discouraging thinking about that. I'd rather have you guide me on how to make money than reinforce my thinking on what's wrong with America. I always say that what's wrong with America is that a certain % of America thinks that government can solve their problems. And this % is who elects the leaders. What's the quote that someone had as their signature about all democracies failing as soon as the electorate finds out they can just vote for the candidates that promise the most in giveaways. ---------- Since September it's just gotten colder and colder. There's less daylight now, I've noticed too. This can only mean one thing - the sun is going out. In a few more months the Earth will be a dark and lifeless ball of ice. 2008-06-19 12:26:43

Wow! (MF Global)... Exemplary new look on the (Ticker)....looks like some of the "cops" are starting to show up.http://uk.reuters.com/article/businessNe.... FBI doing the (perp walk) with a couple of bankers in bracelets today. I'm sure it's barely the tip of the iceberg.

Thank you, Karl, for your ability to gage the market; I have been reading your Daily Tickers for many months & I value your perceptions- and your ability to see the bigger picture--to create a 'gestalt' --as they say in german--for inquiring minds. Haven't fallen off the map--just been busy with a thriving business. I suggest you see the movie called 'The Singing Revolution'--it's very revealing in terms of what a post-modern event of change, and social transformation looks like. It's about the struggles of Estonia, and the Baltic in the '90s in particular. I truly get what you are saying about the incessant social malaise--and the struggle to get the message out there. The social numbness, like the market, is a kind of all-or-nothing extreme, where it seems these two extremes are the only thing that gets attention. Gray matter anyone?--LOL~Z ---------- As for all the Banksters-It's all said in one word: GOUT! 2008-06-20 11:52:41

What an excellent Ticker. I am surprised at so few comments. In the Ticker, Karl said: Because I can't dig through their balance sheets sufficiently well with the information we're given as "peons" to know what sort of tomfoolery has been engaged in! LOL. Don't even bother looking at a regionals balance sheet. You have brought up the SAUSAGE more than a few times; I think we all know it is everywhere. I think it is time for a new accounting rule for balance sheets. Cash should equal actual franklins held. Big bundles in a vault with 24 hour video coverage. Of course they earn zero interest, but that is the price of real liquidity. After that, cash equivalents or short term investments are whatever one wants to create for accountants. ---------- "Will someone come on TV and tell the truth about how bad it is".
