Thanks KD for everything that you do for this board and the overall community. If folks can't see that we have major problems at this point they are just not paying attention.

Paulson lost all credibility with me last spring when he stated the worst of the housing market was behind us. This was back when I first saw the ARM reset schedule was being passed around on the CFC msg board. No f-ing way was it over. Within a few days he was in China telling them they needed to buy more of our mortgage based financial products, lol. With a straight face he did this.
---------- Bernanke himself revealed the various policy measures the Fed might take in response to a crisis: buying government bonds, providing overdrafts and other short-term credits to banks, currency swaps (to boost the dollar), and "securities lending," that is, lending money to institutions to buy stocks. Maybe it really shows how bad the underlying problems are that they have no other choice. Lie, fudge economic reports, use PPT programs and fed speak, and any and all tools to glaze over a major cluster****. And don't forget hiring asswipes like denny kneale to sing some pump monkey ****. Maybe he is promised 72 virgins, sometime in the future? ---------- Support locally, and **** off globally!

A pretty good Ticker for 2/13/08 But to Karl, I hope you are staying calm. Sure, this crap is all crap, but don't burst a blood vessel over it. I think most people on this board realize the Hank, Ben, CNBC, whomever will do whatver they can to postpone the eventual DAY of RECKONING. Anyone remember the board game LIFE? Near the end was the DAY OF RECKONING. I seem to recall it was either RICH ACRES or the POOR FARM. The USA stopped being rich quite some time ago. ---------- "Will someone come on TV and tell the truth about how bad it is". Jim Cramer August 2007. 4/20/2007 WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson delivered an upbeat assessment of the economy, saying growth was healthy and the housing market was nearing a turnaround. "All the signs I look at" show "the housing market is at or near the bottom," Paulson said in a speech to a business group in New York. The U.S. economy is "very healthy" and "robust," Paulson said. I am considering taking a break from trading. Better yet I may close out all positions and switch to long dated puts. The propaganda machine is killing me. Paulson spoke today and is also speaking tomorrow. It seems like he speaks every other day now. It doesn't matter that he is a cheerleader and has been consistently wrong. All he has to do is go out there and lie and the market rallies. He can say the economy is still growing one day and get a pop in the markets and say the exact same thing two days later and the markets once again pop. Between him, Bernanke, Cramer, the rest of the CNBC cheerleaders, the Fed idiots, the massaged economic statistics (I love how prior months are always revised downward yet this is never mentioned), Buffett rumors, etc. it is a constant flow of disinformation. Dick Bove was on Bloomberg when I was leaving work saying Lehman is a buy because of the increase in refinancings. What the hell is that? The retail sales data today was not strong. If November and December had not been revised downward it would have painted a much different picture. That didn't stop the media from portraying it as the solution to all problems. On Bloomberg they said "Many economists now believe that after today's sales data the slowdown in the economy will be short and shallow." I know this is bull****, most here know it is bull****, but the general public follows it blindly. Anyway, I enjoyed tonight's ticker and look forward to them every night. You do an excellent job. Now please feel free to move this rant to wherever it belongs.

Funny, when I heard him talk I was struck by the fact that here was the Treasurer of the US straight up lying. I mean, you hear lies all day long in this racket, but the Treasurer?! What a crooked, disgusting nightmare.

I agree the lies are frustrating, but there have been plenty of lies during weeks where stocks have plummeted too -- anybody remember January? KD warned us about Opex week and, well, here we are. There is defnitely a feeling of momentum towards stocks going up for now but let's see how things play out when March Opex is the only thing in sight. ---------- always looking for something truly worth saying

Paulson is to Bush as Mellon was to Hoover? Does Paulson stay on after the November elections or does he slink away before the REAL beating comes? Hmm, didn't the last Secretary of the Treasury go off to found some firm that is now buried in Chrysler and GMAC? ---------- "Will someone come on TV and tell the truth about how bad it is".
