Indeed. It must be late in Florida. I wanted to watch the Ticker video, but I get the "we are sorry" message. Anyway, I was looking for a place to tack in this fascinating link regarding "The Final Crisis Winter 1933". Karl, I don't disagree with any of your three points, but may I suggest that restoring a credible security rating industry is as important as any of them. Trust collapsed last July when the Bear Stearns hedge funds went from AAA to zeroes for investors instantaneously. The ratings agencies instantly lost 100 years' worth of credibility and with it the US capital markets. To fix this, - Bar bond issuers from paying for ratings - Standardize bond rating criteria at a federal level (the agencies' own ratings were getting ridiculous anyway with all the shades of "affirmed, but outlook negative") - Consider nationalizing the rating companies on an emergency basis - End the SEC-annointed status of S&P/Moody's/Fitch to allow honest players like Egan Jones to compete. etc. ---------- occasionally I do like to see the other viewpoints of people not in my camp of theory, but I generally find it to be a waste of time. - Bear

I just got a reply from the writer of the story, Vivien Lou Chen, who says that she is "trying to reach a top editor right now".

Shouldn't the editing of the story (apparently not by the writer, according to Clay above) be major news that should be brought to the attention of Congress and the rest of the media? Did the bloomberg editor have a gun to his head, or some other "incentive" to change an accurate story into a blatant lie designed to increase the First Liar's chances of lining the pockets of his billionaire buddies? This by itself seems pretty newsworthy. ---------- "You have the right to remain silent, but I must admit, a good cry can do a man wonders." -John Munch

thanks again karl, btw i truely think the congress and media are reading your ticker now..maybe just a coincidence in some of the termonology they are using..dem rep this morning said (forget his name, ended in ski from pa) not only are people saying no but hell no, senators shelbys comments that you referred to and oddly enough karl katinia from cnbc, said they are talking out of both sides of there mouth...as you say Karl ..coincidence?? can someone replace buffets pic with karls here?---------- "I had to look at her today and sat there staring at her bronze naked body laying in the sun, a flaming red candle in her hand she took me in. Heads up, Karl: The link to the original Bloomberg story is pointing to the changed story. They may have destroyed all evidence. (Except your cache, tee hee...)
