I thought that is what I heard ****ers! Issa didn't look too happy and he was sure to ask the question a few times to get clarity wonder if BB will be called to testify on AIG now? ---------- Remember, all Bennie has is dollars. When the CDS were paid at 100 cents on the dollar to the banks using Federal Bailout money. Just gets better and better doesn't it? This means at the least, the government stole between $1000.00 and $3300.00 from me and gave it to the banks, assuming 100 billion divided amongst roughly 100 million taxpayers, which is probably more like 30 million taxpayers in reality. Can't we just shoot them? Do we honestly need a trial? Last modified:

Issa shows up on the evening talking head shows every once in awhile. He's made an ass out of himself on more than one occasion. Do you think it's too much to hope for that he will attempt to redeem himself by grabbing onto this and not letting go? Jesus, I am disappointed in Obama!!!

I am going to, for once in my life, be Mr. optimist here. CONgress seems to be GETTING IT little by little. Judges seem to be ruling against the banking oligarch little by little. People seem to be understanding little by little, everyone seems to be getting a little tired of the BS and they seem to be getting a little ****ed off. Kucinich appeared to be genuinely informed and angry and maybe he will help the other cretins in CONgress understand too. Dare I hope that some of these ****ers get water boarded in the future? Comment : Everyone on this site knows the part that GS played in this situation. There is no one in this world I want to see get ****ed more than GS. It used to be Mozillo But now GS is in the lead by a mile.

Karl, I hope your new party platform is intended for after the Crash and burn/revolution/civil war takes place......cause honestly its too late unless you have a suitcase nuke in NY and the balls to blackmail the country. I used to be under the delusion that at some point people would wake up en mass before our countries collapse. However I do believe that is a dream. This does not mean I have given up as my actions are a testimony to. I will fight until it falls apart and will then fight harder to put it back together. No matter how ****ed up our country has become I love what we were and what we can be and should be as a free country where Laws are above government and banks and corps and corrupt politicians and criminals. ---------- "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." Umm, didn't we already know we got ****d? Isn't paying par for the underlying contracts the essence of settling a CDS? Am I missing something that makes this news? Karl, are you just pointing out that someone in Congress has recognized this, and that they are now obligated to do something about it? Just so everyone knows, it was Maiden Lane III that covered AIG. ---------- "Economics is not practiced as a science. Maiden Lane III settled the CDS (bought CDOs from AIG counter-paraties). Maiden Lane II bought RMBS directly from AIG, I believe.

What's all the hubbub? Bernanke says we'll ultimately make a profit on the Maiden Lane stuff if we just wait long enough (like a million years)...

Nothing like exposing a little conflict of interest and putting it on record, while not so subtley collecting addresses.

Gen, speaking of price discovery, here is a fine piece on the never solved problem with price discovery (which of course is not the real problem, it is only a problem, when the market is not allowed to set the price) on the socalled 'legacy assets' - WSJ said earlier today (can't find it now, perhaps they've retracted it), that Geithner has appointed the hedge fund managers to form the private part of this wonderful private-public partnership known as P-PIP, which you might call the Paulson Toxic Legacy. Basic assumption is that overpricing is inevitable - it seems that everything the FED or the Treasury touches immediately turns into gold. The Put Problem with Buying Toxic Assets by Linus Wilson, Assistant Professor of Finance University of Louisiana "This paper uses the option pricing arguments of Merton (1974) to demonstrate that even solvent banks will be reluctant to sell volatile, toxic assets at market prices. Banks’ shareholders have insolvency puts that give them limited liability in the event of default. The insolvency puts are more valuable when the banks’ assets are more volatile. Shareholders in banks will require any buyer to pay for the lost volatility as well as the market price of the toxic assets. Thus, taxpayers must be ready to richly overpay if they want banks to voluntarily part with their toxic assets." http://ssrn.com/abstract=1343625 http://www.linuswilson.com/
