Now THIS is something Jane Half Can can understand! I'm going to try and get this to the LA slime, NY slime and other bastions of socialist and "consumer protection" mentalities.

I recently got a call from the Capital One Fraud Dept too, but I didn't think to ask them where they were calling from. I submitted my application to PenFed this morning and will be canceling my Cap-One and BofA cards very soon.

Which reminds me. I got a new credit card the other day and called to have it verified (I'll find it and post the exact bank). The woman who I was talking to spoke perfect, vanilla, TV newscaster, English except for pronouncing her "th" like "t", something which I have never heard in the absence of some other regional accent. I asked her what region of the U.S. she was from because it was so strange. She resisted telling me but I insisted (I didn't think she was avoiding answering me at the time) and she said she was sitting in Manila in the Phillipines. ---------- I'm so depressed about outsourcing I called the suicide hotline and got a call center in Pakistan. Their corporation may be domiciled there, but their fraud center is on "some caribbean island" and their "customer service" is in India.

Yep, I had a hold put on my Crapital One account last week, someone bought some over priced old bitty face cream and a couple internet savings club memberships on my card number. I too had some foreign CSR that I couldn't understand very well. Looks like it is time to give them the boot once all this fraud crap is resolved.

COF are pricks. I cancelled my wife's and my card back in 1998. They are the worst of the worst. I haven't done business with them since then, nor will I ever do business with them.

Genesis I noticed this about a couple of years ago and made me shred my COF card. I got 2 fraud alerts almost back to back over a couple months and the second one, I could clearly tell it was a script reader from India. Infact the message that the outsourced fraud department left on my answering machine was SO BAD, I was so suspicious of it that I called COF directly and had them route me to their fraud dept. So ****ed up. ---------- The Coming Collapse of the Middle Class http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akVL7QY0S.... the government comes for the regular people first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFY0HBkUm....

In fact Gen Now that I think about it, at the time I was really suspicious of these back to back fraud alerts and the foreign fraud dept. I remember that a lot of the fraud charges were done in eastern europe / rus so it would not suprise me that these guys are selling USA customers card info to vlad's hackers and mob on the side. ---------- The Coming Collapse of the Middle Class http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akVL7QY0S.... the government comes for the regular people first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFY0HBkUm....

And this is part of the reason the banks are showing better profits. Take taxpayer money at zero percent interest, lie, cheat, steal and then off shore jobs.

I have not had any trouble with capital one...yet. I only keep my capital one card active as a backup to my credit union card. Might use it once every 2 years or so. I guess I need to find an alternative backup card, but who? I'm out of banks to trust, like I ever really trusted any of them to begin with. The last time I talked to a credit card company (can't remember which one, it was many months ago) the person I talked to spoke pretty good english but he had an accent with a British twist and a hint of India. I did not ask, but I'm 99% sure India is where my call landed. ---------- "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana "It is better to live for something rather than die for nothing." - George S. This is so funny. Now granted, I have Chase card and could subject me to some abuse here on the forum, but I don't care. To tie into this Ticker, Chase sometimes sends e-mails. Legitimate and easily tracked to an IP address. At the bottom is the standard "if you are concerned" call this number to confirm if this e-mail is legitimate. So for fun, I did that one time. Ended up talking to someone in the Phillipines. It was actually an entertaining conversation, but I was instructed NOT to respond to the e-mail even though the e-mail turned out to be official. I don't like swearing, but I don't think these companies know what the **** is going on in thesir various business departments. To me, that means the CEO has lost control of the ship and should be terminated for cause. ---------- "We don't quit. Speaking of bank boycotts .. I did a google search and there are many boycotts going on.. KD comes up in the search as well. http://www.bankofamericaboycott.com/ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sourc.... I think the deposit withdrawls from these banks should all be done on the same day to cause a bank run and embarass the fraudsters. Support of illegal immigration, tax evasion, bailouts, fee gouging, shennigans with posting dates on transactions to generate late fees, nazi gold, shifting jobs overseas, predatory lending, mortgage fraud, securities fraud, perjury, insider trading, twisting bankruptcy law to create debt enslavement, wonderful primary dealer relationship with the fed.. ... what did I miss? ----------

I just joined Pentagon Federal Credit Union. I called & asked if having a deceased grandparent who served in WWII made me eligible. The nice woman asked if he served in the Army, I said yes, and she said I was eligible. I proceeded to sign up online. I am looking forward to cutting up my BofA credit card.

Wow. I have a Capital One card and also got called about fraud not long ago. The guy definitely sounded Indian to me. I think I will be canceling it and getting a PenFed card instead. Anything wrong with Discover? That's my only other CC. I'm not really concerned with interest rates because I've always paid my CC's off in full at the end of every billing cycle. If I ever get charged for that I'll tell them to f-off and cancel the card. ---------- http://www.mccotterforpresident.com/

You don't hear any of this in the mainstream media. Wonder if you can get someone to write an article on this and post it in Drudge as well on a talk show like Savage and others. This needs to blasted out to the public.

Karl, glad to see you have made the move to a credit union. It baffles me that people will complain about the rates and treatment they receive from the banks but aren't willing to put out a little effort to move to a credit union. As you have pointed out, moving to a credit union is also one small way to help out our economy as their operations tend to be local and they tend to retain their loans rather than selling them. Your money is staying in the community and the interest rate spread is minimized to the benefit of both the saver and borrower.
