Read the previous tickers; Obama's financial staff said:Quote:"John McCain wants the government to massively overpay for mortgages in a plan that would guarantee taxpayers lose money, and put them at risk of losing even more if home values don't recover. The biggest beneficiaries of this plan will be the same financial institutions that got us into this mess, some of whom even committed fraud," said Jason Furman, the Obama campaign's economic policy director. ---------- I used to play flute; I wonder if I can play a fife? Yes, Ram, he certainly does, he's a Chicago boy isn't he? His hands are dirty too. He is no more going to prosecute than Bush. In Obama's infomercial, he said he would re-involve the people in government, listen even if he disagrees and would level with us and tell us the truth about a bad situation. Time to put him to the test. Might we get no response from his staff on the subject of your ticker? Let's see. ---------- "Then have a recession. Gen. Quote- "Slavery was supposed to end in the United States with the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22nd, 1862." Not to be picky, but the EP did not do any such thing. It was a war measure and it was meant that way, "saint" abe only "freed" the slaves where he had no power to,in Southern states that were under Federal control, or parts there of they were still considered slaves, and also in the northern states where slaves were held, were not included in this "proclamation" "Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, (except the Parishes of St. Bernard, Plaquemines, Jefferson, St. John, St. Charles, St. James Ascension, Assumption, Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Orleans, including the City of New Orleans) Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, (except the forty-eight counties designated as West Virginia, and also the counties of Berkley, Accomac, Northampton, Elizabeth City, York, Princess Ann, and Norfolk, including the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth[)], and which excepted parts, are for the present, left precisely as if this proclamation were not issued" ---------- It is inaccurate to say that I hate everything. When I was 19 years old I worked as a clerk for a large book store in Pennsylvania. I was coming out of the breakroom one day when I ran into a very well dressed Tom Ridge and some of his friends/bodyguards. I didn't immediately recognize him, but I thought he was someone I knew personally like an old boss or a relative. I asked him if I could help him find anything. "Yes," he said "I'm looking for books on Astrology". Uhhmmm..okay. So I led him and his aides over to the section of the store with the sun charts and the moonstones and whatnot. I showed him some of the more popular books and after some time noting his perplexed expression I asked- in a tone that implied ignorance- "did you mean Astronomy?" (a backhanded insult in the world of bookclerks). It was only after saying it that I sheepishly realized I was talking to the Governor. He ended up graciously buying some very expensive Hubble photo books. Transposing Astrology with Astronomy is a very common and innocent mistake to make. But I always think of it everytime I hear about Tom Ridge directing homeland security or handling presidential candidates. Sunni/Shiite? Iran/Iraq? Today's alert is orange. Orange is my favorite color, yaaaaay. 2008-11-03 12:40:32

I rather liked the mantra, "vote AGAINST everyone who voted for the bailout". It has integrity. This switch to Obama seems akin to sleeping with your ex-girlfiend's arch-nemesis to prove how wrong she is. In the end the ex-g/f doesn't care, and you pick-up a STD for slumming it. Not that I'd know. Vote outside the box. Vote AGAINST everyone who voted for the bailout. ---------- REBELLION TO TYRANTS IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD 2008-11-03 12:45:18

I'm curious: Did you send similar communications to the Obama campaign? And what was the feedback you received from them, assuming you made a similar effort to bring this to their attention? Maybe you've had better luck with them than me, I don't know. I do know I'm as POd at the current administration as anyone, but frankly, I've only found one person in DC who would listen to me and that's my Congressman, a Republican. In fact, Durbin and Obama didn't even answer their phones in DC during the No Banker Left Behind debate. At least Bush had a real person answer the phone, as did my Congressman. To this degree, no. Why not? Lack of access. I decided that the best shot at altering the course of action was to try to work with the Republicans. Maybe that's my bias, being a lifelong Republican, or maybe it was my honest analysis. I don't know. But it was the decision made, and interestingly enough, we are now seeing similar commentary about the proper path forward from hard-left people like Michael Moore. I am well aware that I'm likely to be disappointed with Obama. But I know I will be with McCain. ---------- I used to play flute; I wonder if I can play a fife? I do not believe either major party will act to address the issue under discussion. There is a reason why nearly all of the two-party politicians don't meaningfully reply to our correspondence, and that is they perceive it is not in their best interest to do so. You are free to draw your own conclusions as to why that may be the case. For me, there is one, and only one issue in this election. That is our right to remain armed citizens. That is what is really at stake here. Neither party will address our monetary debacle, and those that would are not electable. But, if the Executive branch falls here, new liberal SCOTUS appointees will soon appear, and those rights will be gone. We've already had a close call, with a narrow decision upholding most of the 2nd Amendment. With Obama/Biden, the outcome is certain. ---------- "Panics do not destroy capital; they merely reveal the extent to which it has been previously destroyed by its betrayal into hopelessly unproductive works" John Mills 2008-11-03 13:07:19

I'll be voting against everyone that voted yes,and that includes Obama. I'm sorry Karl, but how can you say to vote against anyone that voted yes, then vote for Obama? Third party seems like a wiser choice.
