KD, please don't assume that I do nothing. I have written and called my Congressman and both my state Senators. I don't sit and drink beer (I never drink alcohol). I have been fortunate in my trades despite the rampant FRAUD that you mention and all the FRAUD that you have not mentioned. I have also signed your petitions. My father taught me the golden rule at an early age: Those with the gold make the rules. What do you think of this...if everyone of us and all our friends could pick a specific day and withdraw all but a small amount of money from bank accounts, stock accounts, mutual funds, and every other account that gave corporate America use of our funds, and then hold it out until we got some changes in the way Congress regulates level 3, banks, the Fed, the SEC and who ever else we (you) thought was colluding in the Fraud that exists? In other words, go on financial strike until changes were made. Imagine the power of the people on this board...if we all opened accounts on a medium sized bank and then all on the same day withdrew our funds from that bank, would it create a run on the bank? If so, could we do it to one and then pick another and then another to do? Just shooting out ideas because my politicians don't seem to care. Out of writing to the White house, both senators, and my congressman, I have received standard form replies from only one senator and my congressman. I love this country and don't want it to fall due to mismanagement by corrupt politicians and corporate America. I think we need to show this country we have power and are not afraid to use it.

I believe organizing a bank run can get you in quite a bit of trouble, but if we were to get people to withdraw all but say $500 from their accounts all at the same time, even if dispersed, it would have quite the impact. It would have to happen in significant numbers of course. Gen, Great Ticker. Bad conclusion. You, like Marx, understand the history and the ramifications, but the prescription for action is all wrong. And you are blaming the victims. I come from a politically active family and my mother stood up against the machine. You know what it got her, a ticket to an early dirt nap, (from stress) and a shiny better looking machine, that co-opted all her language, watered down all her ideas, and had a lawyer at every turn to make sure that anything she did was cut off at the knees. The Families that be, that have run this country into the ground under the guise of corporate rule, has, and always will do, what they want. They have the gold, the guns and the lawyers and thats what wins at these games. The only politically astute thing you have said on the action front is that it is an election year, and you now have a chance to get to these mother****ers. The other 18 months or 5 years, not a shot. The only level that you can make an impact is at the local level. I have written letters and attended meetings. Put out plans to deal with coming cataclysm. Nothing. So here I am at the public comment portion of the last energy committee meeting for our city, I wanted to ask some questions about the impending bond crisis and I was told to shut up and get out. There was NO ONE there. A mob of one gets nowhere. Remember the guy in front of the tank in Beijing. That is what it is like fighting these corrupt corporate politicians. And stop saying Democrat Party. It's grammatically incorrect. How would you like me to say that your party is the Republic Party? We need a ****ing mob action, like in Gangs of New York. Colonel...I think your concluding sentence says it all....mob action. Yeah, I agree as long as the reciprocation is directed at those in charge, and those that have pig****ed this country. If we continue to assume and accept that this country can be run under the guise that people are stupid and you have every right to take advantage of that stupidity, our country will fall hard and fast. It is exactly that attitude that brought us to where we are today. I do not blame anyone but the leaders in whom we placed our trust, and who have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. Maybe I don't get out much, but I do not know a single person who will sit back and say...abuse me, take advantage me. As far as this election, you have no choice to change things. Whereever that notion comes from I surely would like to know. And how can we stand up to this dark force, when powerful political leaders even hesitate to say the wrong things...in fear of their lives, livelihood and family. I agree with Gen that this is up to us, and no one else is going to help us. We must help ourselves. And I think that is exactly what the colonel is saying, "We need a ****ing mob action, like in Gangs of New York. Then these ****ers might listen!"
